The B R Hills or Biligirirangana Hills as it is commonly called, is a hill range situated in the South-western part of Karnataka. The hill also shares its border with the state of Tamil Nadu. It is a tremendously popular destination in South India for road trips.

The route from Mysore to B R Hills is via the Mysore Kollegal Rd/Mysore – Trichy Rd/T Narsipura Rd and SH 57. The 85-kilometer trip takes you through towns and thick forests.
You can stop over at Krishna Katte Earth Dam to enjoy the splendid surroundings, spend time in the lap of nature at the Barachukki Waterfalls, seek blessings at the Gourishwara Temple, and witness the beauty of Gaganachukki Falls from the vantage point near it.

Another alternate route is via Tirumakudalu Narasipura – Chamarajanagar Rd and SH 57. The distance via this route is 89 kilometers and you can cover the distance in around 2 hours.

1. BRT Wildlife Sanctuary
BRT wildlife sanctuary is situated between the Kaveri and the Tungabhadra rivers and spreads over an area of 540 sq km. It is home to a plethora of diverse flora and fauna. A number of endangered species reside in this scenic sanctuary.
2. Biligiri Rangaswamy Temple
Dedicated to Lord Ranganatha, Biligiri Rangaswamy Temple is perched on the BR Hills’ highest peak. This deity is solely represented in this temple in its standing form in the entire nation. 3. Dodda Sampige Mara
